Real Madrid are now considering the possibility of selling both Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia next summer, replacing them with Alphonso Davies and Miguel Gutierrez, according to a report from Cadena SER.

While Alphonso Davies is reportedly set to sign for the club as a free agent as soon as he’s allowed to negotiate with other clubs on January 1st, 2025, Real Madrid still own 50% of Miguel Gutierrez’s rights, meaning that he would be a very affordable signing if Los Blancos are indeed willing to change the entire look of their left-back spot.

Mendy has been a big disappointment so far this season. He signed a contract extension with Real Madrid during the summer but overall has looked like a different player from the defender we saw last season. On the other hand, Garcia has shown some encouraging signs but might not be ready to become an undisputed starter, that being the reason why Real Madrid could be considering taking their chances with Gutierrez.
