Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad in the semifinals of the Supercopa de España Femenina 2025.

The tournament is played between the top 2 in Liga F (Barcelona and Real Madrid) and the Copa de la Reina finalists (Barcelona and Real Sociedad) of the 2023/2024 season. Since Barcelona was in both categories, the third-placed Liga F team, Atlético Madrid, joined the tournament.

Las Blancas have participated in the Supercup three times in their history, and they faced Barcelona each time in the semifinals, losing all 3 times. This will be the first time the white club won’t play El Clásico in the Supercopa semifinal. If they defeat Real Sociedad however, another El Clásico awaits them as Barcelona defeated Atleti 3-0 in the first semifinal match on January 22nd.

“The scenario is motivating, we are having a good season, and we want to fight for the first title of the season. The key to victory will be our accuracy. We have a lot of players who score goals. The team attacks well in all sectors and generates many dangerous situations. That indicates that we have a good offensive structure,” speaks Alberto Toril in the press conference ahead of the Supercup semifinal against Real Sociedad.

The coach also discussed the injuries and doubts about the encounter against La Real.

“Lakrar is doubtful after the heavy knock the other day. On the other hand, Weir is showing many positive signs but is going through some discomfort that prevents her from improving her performance, but she is at a very good level. She’s ready for the game and is vital to the team.”

The kickoff is on Thursday, January 23rd, at 19:00 CET (1 pm ET) at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
