Real Madrid face Atlético de Madrid on matchday 16 of Liga F. The Madrid derby will be the first game of 2025 for Las Blancas.

The first weekend of 2025 is reserved for the postponed and rescheduled matches. The derby is one of the rescheduled matches in advance since this match should’ve been played in the last week of January. However, that week is reserved for Supercopa de España Femenina and the four participating clubs play their league matches from matchday 16 this weekend. Real Sociedad and Barcelona are also among these participating clubs and will play their match the same day as the derby.

Las Blancas haven’t won a Madrid derby since December 11th, 2022, during which time the two clubs faced each other 6 times. There were 3 draws and 3 losses, 2 of the losses being in Copa de la Reina. Real Madrid are looking for the first win of 2025 to be the first Madrid derby win in 7 games.

The kick-off is on Sunday, January 5th, at 12:00 CET (6 am ET) on Centro Deportivo Alcalá de Henares. The broadcast will be available on DAZN Women’s Football YouTube channel.
