Per Marca, Valverde (yes!!!!) and Mendy (no!!!!) are set to be the starting fullbacks on big games.
Pointing out some obvious stuff here, but: Fede hasn’t been Cafu, he’s just been… Solid. Just the fact that our RB isn’t getting cooked on defense every play is huge. That’s all we ask. He’s a non-liability.

Did some digging. Per fbref, Mendy has only made three passes into the penalty area (PPA) this season before tonight. Three. In 17 games (not including the super cups). That is insane.

What, only three passes into the box before last game? Worse, it’s not only pass to the box that matters. Many times he passes to the back, because he lacks skills to put a better pass.
