Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 4.23 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge Ltd.(down 3.82 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 3.51 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 2.65 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 2.22 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.79 per cent down at 40544.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 117.25 points at 22795.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 424.9 points at 75311.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, SAIL and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Deccan Cements, Shree Rama News, Hexaware Technologie, Camlin Fine Sc and Blue Coast Hotel hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Suratwwala Business, International Gemmol, AGS Transact Tech, M M Forgings and OneSource Specialty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
