bse shares: BSE shares in focus after Q2 profit skyrockets 193% YoY to Rs 346 crore

Leading exchange BSE shares will be in focus on Wednesday after the firm reported 193% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 346 crore for the second quarter, compared with Rs 118 crore in the last year quarter.

Revenue from operations rose 138% YoY to Rs 746.3 crore in the reporting period from Rs 314.5 crore in the year-ago period.

The profit before tax (PBT) for the September quarter during the reporting period also more than doubled to Rs 432 crore as against Rs 163 crore in the last year quarter.

Operating expenses in the July-September 2024 period rose to Rs 386 crore, compared with Rs 204 crore in the corresponding period of last year.

Investment income during the quarter increased to Rs 67 crore, compared with Rs 47.5 crore in the last year quarter.

Meanwhile, the other income rose marginally to Rs 5.68 crore as against Rs 4.99 crore in the corresponding period of last year quarter.As per Trendlyne data, the average target price of the stock is Rs 3,817, which indicates a downside of 18% from the current market prices. The consensus recommendation from 7 analysts for the stock is a ‘Hold’.In technical terms, the relative strength index (RSI) of the stock is currently at 60.4, signalling it’s neither trading in the overbought nor in the oversold territory. Additionally, the MACD is at 201.2, which is above its center and signal Line, this is a bullish indicator.

On Tuesday, BSE’s shares closed at Rs 4,705, up 1.8% on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex fell 1.03%. Its shares have surged 114% in 2024 to date and 890% over the past three years, with the company currently holding a market capitalization of Rs 63,694 crore.
