Real Madrid transfer target Alphonso Davies is now close to an agreement with current club Bayern Munich over a contract extension, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The report claims that a four year deal has been offered by the German club to the Canadian star, and although there is not a full agreement yet, both parties are confident to get it done.

There is a small gap between what Bayern Munich are offering the player and what the player wants but the report says a compromise is expected to be made.

Real Madrid have wanted Davies for a considerable amount of time, and they were hoping to sign him in the summer when his current contract is due to expire.

With this new report, it seems that Davies is more in than out of Bayern Munich, which means that Real Madrid will have to look at other options to reinforce the left-back position.
